Learn Kame's diet secrets! Losing 5 kilos from Dream Boys musical

KAT-TUN members Kamenashi Kazuya, Nakamaru Yuichi and Tanaka Koki starred as the leads in JE's ongoing (3 to 25 Sept) Dream Boys musical and it seems that the rigourous training caused Kamenashi to lose five kilos - from 64kg to 59.2kg.

The musical featured the normal song and dance as well as "flying" and "boxing". Kamenashi managed to perform 15 high-speed turns without any mistake. In an interview later, he said that it was, honestly, something he was most scared of. He has been the lead in the musical since 2004, with Nakamaru pairing up with him in 2007 and 2008.

This year's musical was to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Imperial Garden Theater, where the musical is held. It also marks the end of the long-running Dream Boys musical. (Azashi)

Honestly though, it looks like he put on weight to me.... And I don't think he was ever that heavy anyway! And the things these singers have to do is..... !!!

KAT-TUN doing well without Akanishi Jin

When Akanishi Jin (26) left KAT-TUN earlier this year, some fans voiced concerns about whether the band would be able to do as well without him. It now seems that their fears are unfounded as KAT-TUN has landed a new CM contract with Suzuki.

KAT-TUN will be promoting the new Suzuki Solio, a compact 5-seater car. It will be released on 24 December 2010. Apparently, the advertisers were looking for a "popular idol group that has character".

From year 2002 to 2007, KAT-TUN appeared in many CMs. The companies they advertised for included NTT Sky DoCoMo and Lotte. However, Akanishi then left to study English in America, so their CM activities became rather limited.

Well, this is a good step for KAT-TUN, and since Jin seems to be doing well in America, it seems that the dcision for Jin to leave KT was the right one after all.

Just a minor announcement: In the future, all posts like this and other posts with a lot of photos will have the label 'pictorial'. This way, it'll be easier for those who are more interested in seeing pictures. First erson I thought of when I saw the title was Jun! I thought he'd top the list, especially with his new dorama where he's playing a tsundere. I hate love Bakanishi, but I don't really know what he's doing there, along with Tegoshi! My faves in this list: Matsujun, Kame and Ueda! <3

Nakamaru embarrassed about everyone knowing that he goes Dutch

KAT-TUN member, Nakamaru Yuichi, has received the dishonorable image of being the “Dutch guy.”
This topic was discussed during the live concert “KAT-TUN LIVE TOUR 2010 PART2：WORLD BIG TOUR” at Tokyo Dome on the 17th. Members were talking about “who pays for the food when you go out to eat with other member”, and Ueda Tatsuya said that Yuichi definitely goes Dutch. The utterance surprised other members, but Yuichi was complaining.
This is the conversation between the members:
Nakamaru Yuichi: Please stop! It is going to spread all over the internet, especailly nowadays through blogs.
Kamenashi Kazuya: Probably if you search “Nakamaru Yuichi” on the internet, “Nakamaru Yuichi, Dutch” will come out right away.
Tanaka Koki: And you will see “Did you mean ‘Nakamaru Yuichi, Dutch” on the top.
Unfortunatly, Yuichi’s worry became true. When you search “Nakamaru Yuichi” on the Yahoo! JAPAN, the first thing you see is “Nakamaru Yuichi, Dutch” now. (tokyohive)

This conversation between the members really made me laugh in front of my computer screen! Especially Koki's comment HAHAHA. Nakamaru is so cute... Tried to do the search but couldn't find the Dutch comment!

Kamenashi Kazuya on Akanishi Jin leaving KAT-TUN

KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya (24) has assured fans the group will not break up, reported several newspapers.


At a press conference held before the group’s concert in Tokyo on July 16, the first thing Kamenashi did was send a straight message to KAT-TUN fans. “I know the rumours have already started but this is not a break up so don’t worry. Making KAT-TUN grow stronger is our mission and our dream. Akanishi managed to succeed in his solo concert so the five of us need to make sure our concerts succeed too. I want to treat this like a new start,” he said.
Kamenashi had also said the group had no right to force Jin Akanishi (26) back. “He’s (Akanishi) doing what he wants to do. We can’t ignore that and tell him to stop it and come work with us,” he said.
Fellow KAT-TUN member Tanaka Koki (24) had added that it was the second time Akanishi had been absent from the group so the damage was minimal. He said the current five members had already established their own "five-member style".
Kamenashi also revealed he had not been in contact with Akanishi recently. “I haven’t heard from him. Is he in Japan?” (MomoEdgewood's Mediawatch)

Cousin of Tanaka Koki makes modelling debut

Tsukamoto Airi, a cousin of KAT-TUN's Tanaka Koki (24), officially made her debut as a fashion model this month. She appeared in the new issue of the magazine Edge Style, which went on sale on Wednesday.
Tsukamoto is described as a "small-faced beauty" who stands at 168cm tall, with legs that she is proud of. She previously had a job at a brand shop but was scouted in Shibuya to become a model. It was later learned that she is Tanaka's cousin.
The magazine's editor-in-chief has high hopes for her. It appears that the publication may spread to Taiwan, China, and other parts of Asia, and the editor is already planning for Tsukamoto to be the magazine's face overseas.
Tsukamoto stated that she is aiming to be a distinctive model like Hinano Yoshikawa or Rinka. She also said that she wants to appear on television variety shows. (Tokyograph)

Why I'm developing a crush on everyone in KAT-TUN

I've been becoming more interested in KAT-TUN than Arashi (oh no!), especially after watching like 75 episodes of Cartoon KAT-TUN, but I still don't really have a favourite member. So I've been taking some KAT-TUN quizzes. Haha! Yes, I do think they're silly but it's lots of fun! I've also included an extremely lengthy summary (how ironic) of what I think about each member as a love interest. Tanaka Koki of KAT-TUN used to be bullied in school

KAT-TUN member, Tanaka Koki confessed that he used to be bullied by classmates on their radio program “KAT-TUN style.” The two personalities from KAT-TUN on this day were Tanaka Koki and Taguchi Junnosuke.
On one of the corners of the radio show, "Majime ni Hanashima special" (Let’s have a serious conversation), KAT-TUN members provide advice to listeners. On this specific episode, an 8th grade girl wrote in asking them for advice.
She wrote, “I have been bullied at school since I was in 6th grade, so I’m scared to go to school. Please give me some advice and courage.”
Koki said right away, “I was bullied too when I was in elementary school. They hid my shoes, they put thumbtacks on my chair. Somebody even wrote “stupid” on somebody’s desk, and everyone pointed at me saying, ‘We think Tanaka did it.’”
Koki added, “There should be someone to help you, and if you keep facing it, you will see the light at the end. That’s what I did.”
