Yesterday, Sankei Sports reported that Arashi’s Ninomiya Kazunari (27) and Fukuda Kyoko (27) will make guest appearances in the final of Matsumoto Jun’s summer drama next week as a props technician and assistant producer respectively.
The drama “夏の恋は虹色に輝く (Natsu no Koi wa Niji-iro ni Kagayaku)” follows the romance between a second-generation actor Kusunoki Taiga (Matsumoto) and single mother Kitamura Shiori (Yuko Takeuchi). The final focuses on the Taiga’s work in the stage play of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
The guest actor list for the final has revealed a line up of many A-list Japanese actors, including Ichimura Masachika (61) who plays a stage actor who had gotten the role of Claudius in the play.
Ichimura had previously starred with Matsumoto in 2007′s drama series “Bambino!” and had said he had been extremely excited to be able to work with the popstar again.
It has been reported that Arashi’s Nino, who plays a props technician, also has a scene with Matsumoto, but how the two character’s will interact with one another has been left as a surprise for Monday.
Other guests include Kyoko Fukuda as an assistant producer role, Kitamura Yukiya (36) as an actor who plays Hamlet, and Natsuki Mari (58) as a singer role.

Matsumoto Jun's drama cut short due to poor ratings
It has been decided that the drama "Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku", starring Matsumoto Jun from Arashi and Takeuchi Yuko, will be cut short. There will only be 10 episodes. The reason for this was the low viewership ratings that the show has experienced so far.
The only time this jdorama has achieved more than 15% ratings was for the first episode, which was broadcast on the 19th of July and recieved a rating of 15.7%. The fifth episode, which was aired yesterday, had a rating of only 10.2%. The ratings so far have averaged at 12.36%, which is not good for the prestigous Monday 9pm slot that it occupies.
It is understood that the next drama to be aired in that slot will star Ueto Aya, opposite Takenouchi Yutaka. (Entame)

Drop in ratings for MatsuJuns getsu9 dorama. :O
The ratings for Matsumoto Jun's currently airing drama "Natsu no koi ha nijiiro ni kagayaku" has dropped drastically, from 15.7% for the first episode on 19th July to 10.9% for the second episode, which just aired on 26th July. In the drama, MatsuJun co-stars with Takeuchi Yuko.
The drama airs on 9pm every Monday night, and is considered one of the most sought after time slots that constantly turns in the highest ratings.
This is bad news for Jun, who a popular member of Johnny's Entertainment group Arashi, as he has not been doing very well in his dramas since the extremely popular Hana Yori Dango series. It is also likely that the dorama ratings will drop further on.

Aoi Yuu unhappy with her role in "Flowers" movie
The movie "Flowers" starring Aoi Yuu (24), Suzuki Kyoka (42), Takeuchi Yuko (30), Tanaka Rena (30), Nakama Yukie (30) and Hirosue Ryoko (29) from the "Tsubaki" commercials will finally open this weekend, but unfortunately there isn't only sunshine for the flowers behind the scene.
Back in early May, the beauties and the production team met in Tokyo to announce the completion of the movie at a PR event, but one of them was missing: Aoi Yuu. The official statement said that she couldn't attend it due to her poor health, but the tabloid "Tokyo Sports" has now got wind that this might have not been the real reason behind her absence.
"It's said that Aoi is dissatisfied with the movie," a movie company insider told the tabloid. "Aoi always reads a script and then decides whether she will accept the role or not herself. However, this time it's a tie-in with a commercial, so her agency accepted the role without even asking her."
She ended up playing that role, but she might have still had a grudge against that decision and thus she decided to boycott the PR event. It seems like the producers weren't all that happy about her abandoning her spot either. "Producer Mr. O went into a rage when he learned about her absence and said stuff like 'I can't believe this!'." The same insider continued.
And if that wasn't already enough, Nakama eventually had to cancel the 2nd event in the afternoon as well. "She couldn't be there in the afternoon due to her schedule, so the event had to be done with even less members of the main cast." Things even got worse for the staff when Hirosue complained about exhaustion just prior to the afternoon event.
The seems to be a certain lack of motivation among the cast of Flowers, but hopefully that didn't influence the overall quality and enjoyment factor of the final movie. Matsumoto Jun and Arashi - the next Kimura Takuya and SMAP?
Matsumoto Jun (26) may be stepping out of the shadow of Kimura Takuya (37). Both are members of Johnny' Entertainment idol groups, of which KimuTaku's SMAP are the still hugely popular veterans, while MatsuJun and Arashi are being carefully groomed as the next dominant force. One indication of this is the announcement that Matsumoto has landed the lead role in a Monday night drama series on Fuji TV, making him the first Arashi member to do so.
The Monday 9pm time slot is considered the most prestigious of all, and it was in that time slot that Kimura achieved audience ratings among the highest of modern times with shows like "Beautiful Life" (TBS, 2000) and "Hero" (Fuji, 2001). This spring, Fuji put Kimura in the spotlight with "Tsuki no Koibito" but as with his other recent dramas, ratings have been good rather than spectacular. So, attention will shift to how Matsumoto does in the romantic "Natsu no Koi ha Nijiiro ni Kagayaku." His love interest will be provided by always solid Takeuchi Yuko (30). Matsumoto Jun's lead role in Fuji TV dorama confirmed!
It has been confirmed that Arashi's Matsumoto Jun (26) will star in Fuji TV's Monday night drama series next season. He will be the first member of the group to appear in a drama during that time slot, and this will be his first lead role in a full-length Fuji TV series.
The drama, titled "Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku," is an original love story by "Buzzer Beat" screenwriter Mika Omori. The female lead is being played by Takeuchi Yuko (30), who starred in "Lunch Queen" and "Fukigen na Gene," both also written by Omori.
In the show, Matsumoto plays a struggling actor who has developed a complex due to his father, a famous actor. The character is described as being "tsundere," a term referring to people who are normally cold in personality but become overly fawning when they are around their love interest. The role suits him rather well, doesn't it?
